Restore PRR and LIRR Equipment
LIRR #35 and #39 are 4-6-0 G5s class steam locomotives, built for the Long Island Rail Road in 1928 and 1929, respectively, by the Pennsylvania Railroad's Juniata Shops. The locomotives shuttled commuters between New York City and Long Island in the years that saw the effects of a Depression, a World War, and the rapid development of Long Island. We are aiding in the effort to restore these historic locomotives as well as other various types of equipment that ran in the PRR era.
